MOVING AROUND THE CITY
Good news: you won’t need a car because most places are walkable.
Navigating Reggio Emilia is straightforward with several convenient transport options. Choose the method that best suits your pace:
- Public Bus (Autobus)
- Online: We highly recommend downloading the Roger app. It is available in English and allows you to purchase tickets online and find the best routes based on your current location.
- In-Person: You can also purchase physical tickets at local convenience stores known as Tabacchi (Tobacco shops), identifiable by the large “T” sign outside.
- Pro-Tip: Don’t Forget to Validate!
- Having a ticket is not enough, you must validate it to make it official.
- Physical Tickets: Insert your ticket into the small yellow or green machines immediately upon boarding the bus. A timestamp will be printed on it.
- Roger App: If you use the app, ensure your digital ticket is activated/validated within the app as you board.
- Penalty: Failure to validate your ticket can result in a significant fine, even if you have a valid un-punched ticket in your hand.
- Bike & Scooter Sharing
- For a flexible and eco-friendly way to explore, use the Ridemovi app. This service allows you to locate and unlock electric bikes and e-scooters (monopattino) parked throughout the city.
- Taxi Services
- App: Use the TaxiMove app for quick digital booking.
- Phone: Call the 24/7 hotline at +39 0522 452545.
